Why do this ride: Part of Kettle Valley Railway (KVR); scenic river valley canyons.

Difficulty: Straightforward.

Other notes:  Starting in Penticton, this one takes in bottom part of paved climb to APEX (Green Mountain), followed by Shingle Creek road north to hook up to Penticton-Summerland road and then KVR downhill return. Note, the status of Shingle Creek road is a bit fuzzy, it is partially on private Penticton Indian Band land. While nothing is formally preventing you from entering, some locals may not be happy with your presence. If uncomfortable the route can easily be rendered into an out and back from Summerland.
