Llenllenéy’ten (High Bar) First Nation traditional territory: The area below Cougar Point (around where umbrella is in image) is High Bar First Nation reserve lands that are not public access roads. They include areas on both sides of Fraser River that are culturally important and sensitive for the community and should be considered closed to general public recreational use. Any access must be requested directly from and approved by High Bar First Nation in advance.
Why do this ride: Unmatched Fraser Canyon views from Cougar Point. Scenic rolling terrain along Jesmond Rd.
Difficulty: Straightforward rolling terrain except the ride back up from Cougar Point is pretty challenging.
Other notes: We stayed at Big Bar Ranch as a central location for Fraser Canyon rides. See note above regarding High Bar First Nation reserve land below Cougar Point (along High Bar Rd) which is not publicly accessible (the current revised out and back route avoids this area).
